Surprising our SUBSCRIBER with his DREAM CAR BUILD! (Full Transformation): 2014 Subaru BRZ

Alex was recently announced as the winner for throtl Dream Build #2! As the winner of #throtldreambuild2, Alex got his car shipped out to San Diego California to be fully modified by the throtl team. When Alex's car arrived, it was a mostly-stock 2014 Subaru BRZ. As soon as the car arrived at the throtl headquarters, the team immediately got to work on some modifications. Alex's car got the works with some new interior, exterior, and performance-based modifications. Interior Modifications For the interior of the BRZ, we installed a custom black suede headliner, throtl shift knob, and a new audio system from OEM Audio+. The OEM Audio+ system sounds significantly better than the factory audio system. This made it way more enjoyable to listen to music in the BRZ. The Opelite Optics headliner had a space theme with led shooting stars that lit up the roof of the BRZ, adding a nice bit of style to the interior. The new throtl shift knob was the cherry on top for interior modificati

KATHRYN GILES AND
STEVE FRASER VERY MUCH FIT THE MOLD OF A POWER COUPLE.

Words by Joshua McGowan for SuperFly Autos

No, not really. Let us explain. The definition of a ‘Power Couple’ according to the Urban Dictionary – A couple who seems to have a fairy tale romance. Also, both parties involved in the power couple have tremendous influence over people around them because of their good looks* and seemingly perfect relationship with their significant other.

A couple is mostly mistaken for a couple who has it all. Trouble with that is that they usually fall apart upon a closer look. At Kats and Fisher however you can look as close as you want and you get exactly what you see. They share the same passion, are 100% focused on their goals, and together, share an unwavering dedication and passion for their cars and friends.

At the ripe age of only 23 and 22, you can tell they are only just getting started. We for our part can’t wait to see what the future brings for them. As a couple working together on any passion, there are bound to be pitfalls. Just like anything really that you share with a loved one Kats and Fisher do have their own fair share of troubles but at the same rate they do believe the benefits far outweigh the negatives on that note.

‘’I say we are lucky! Yeah we have had our ups and downs, but to be able to share your passion with your best friend & the one you love… It really is just the best! I mean when you’re rolling down the motorway and you look out the window and your partner is rolling next to you, that’s an awesome feeling!’’ ‘’From day dot we have helped each other out with the cars.

It just is good because our paydays are separate, so it’s like we have 2 paydays! Ideas are always flowing, I admit I’m the worst for thinking of things we could do… I drop Steve a text & then it kinda just goes from there & it just happens!’’ says Kats. There has been by no means luck in their success, they put It down to hard work and saving, as well as the passion for what they both love.

They epitomize the hard working mind-set that can get you far, but also have a genuine love that makes them so appealing; one look at their social media presence and the willing and helping hand of all their friends proves that. They haven’t been gifted anything, it is all down to hard work and never giving up, and as a couple they really show that no one is in charge of their own destiny but themselves.

Both have full time jobs to help supplement their passion of customizing cars, with Fisher working as an engineer at British Gas and Kats working as an employee in Marketing & Media at Legend Vehicles. Using the money they make from full time employment they have managed to finance their love of customizing, helping one another really embrace their love for cars and customizing.

They are not going to lie however, and admit there can be struggles with being identified as a ‘power couple’.‘’ The arguments when things go tits up, that’s annoying, it is always one thing after another with us. The money sucks too at times. Those things are downers, but then we look at our cars like – yooo! It makes us happy again. And hey, I mean when you are rolling down the motorway and you look out of the window and your partner is rolling next to you, that’s and awesome feeling!”

The heated discussions of who knows better etc….People butting their noses in, it is hard living such a public life… But we only show 10% of our lives, people either assume or make up the rest! No one is perfect & neither is life, it is just what you make of it which makes it better! It unquestionably makes them a lot stronger working together, they compliment and suit each other not just from far but also at a very close look emotionally.

Sharing the burdens as well as the ecstatic highs that come with working together to build a great reputation in the customizing scene. Do they seem to have it all going for them? Young and in love, they are slowly building a reputation together and seem to get everything they want? Kats summarised perfectly how they came to where they are: “Of course you really need to do the work, as in – I worked my arse off and saved! There is no one who does it for you, even if you are getting products to use.

You have to do the work otherwise your first will be the last too!” In summary you can say, that there commitment as a couple of hard working young adults carving out a name for themselves within our scene is quite apparent. We can see this to be the seed for our beloved custom car scene to weather any future storms.
