Surprising our SUBSCRIBER with his DREAM CAR BUILD! (Full Transformation): 2014 Subaru BRZ

Alex was recently announced as the winner for throtl Dream Build #2! As the winner of #throtldreambuild2, Alex got his car shipped out to San Diego California to be fully modified by the throtl team. When Alex's car arrived, it was a mostly-stock 2014 Subaru BRZ. As soon as the car arrived at the throtl headquarters, the team immediately got to work on some modifications. Alex's car got the works with some new interior, exterior, and performance-based modifications. Interior Modifications For the interior of the BRZ, we installed a custom black suede headliner, throtl shift knob, and a new audio system from OEM Audio+. The OEM Audio+ system sounds significantly better than the factory audio system. This made it way more enjoyable to listen to music in the BRZ. The Opelite Optics headliner had a space theme with led shooting stars that lit up the roof of the BRZ, adding a nice bit of style to the interior. The new throtl shift knob was the cherry on top for interior modificati

California Exhaust Law Getting Repealed?!

In June of 2018 California Governor Jerry Brown signed A.B. 1824 which amended how modified exhaust violations are treated by law enforcement. A.B. 1824 states that if you are cited for a modified exhaust, it is no longer a "fix-it-ticket" meaning that you have to have your exhaust replaced and there is no way of avoiding a fine. In January of 2019 California was issued a federal grant allowing for more CHP officers to work and strictly look for cars with modified exhausts.

When A.B. 1824 was enforced, the car community immediately took action to fight it by starting a petition. Within the first day the petition had thousands of signatures. California assembly members Jim Frazier and Tim Grayson  recently introduced the legislation of A.B. 390. If A.B. 390 is passed then A.B. 1824 will be repealed and any exhaust violations will go back to being a "fix-it-ticket." Legislation has been introduced and is currently undergoing a 30-day waiting period. After the waiting period legislation will be considered.

We believe the situation will be resolved in no time! We are proud of the car community for fighting through this and doing their civil duty of expressing their opinions on what many felt was an unfair violation. We will continue to cover any changes that occur related to A.B. 1824 and the California exhaust laws.
